The sentencing for Dr. Byron Glenn of Cape Girardeau was continued Tuesday.
Glenn originally faced felony charges of mail fraud and passing more than $950,000 in bogus money orders and checks during the last half of 2012. Federal prosecutor Morley Swingle dropped the felony charges and asked Glenn be sentenced to time served in exchange for his guilty plea.
Glenn had been in custody since his arrest in February. In August, he was released from custody on his own recognizance until his sentencing.
U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh in August told Glenn he would order a presentence investigation before deciding whether to accept the binding plea agreement. If Limbaugh disagreed with the agreement, he said he would allow Glenn to withdraw his guilty plea and the case would go to trial.
Glenn's sentencing was rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 27.
