Today is newspaper recycling day for the Girl Scouts. Newspapers, which will be recycled into cardboard boxes and other products, will be accepted at a special drop-poff bin at Schnucks parking lot today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Girls Scouts say that recycling one ton of newspaper is the equivalent of one ton of paper, made from about 17 trees, which covers two to three cubic yards of landfill space...

Girl Scouts urge people in all communities to protect and improve their world and to use resources wisely.

Saturday's pickup is for newspapers only. No magazines, junk mail or telephone books are acceptable at the Saturday collection.

Newspapers may be placed in grocery bags or cardboard boxes.
