The Girl Scouts of Otahki Council recently honored their volunteers and elected and installed their board of directors and nominee committee members.
New board members installed at the annual meeting and volunteer appreciation program included Marsha Haskell, Mary Spell and Sue Hellwege of Cape Girardeau, Mary Dinkins of Piedmont, Mo., and Mickey French of Anna, Ill.
Volunteers were honored and several special awards were presented at the luncheon.
Marian George of Cobden, Ill., was awarded the Thanks II Badge, the highest honor for an adult in Girl Scouting.
The Thanks Badge for outstanding service that benefits the entire Girl Scout organization was presented to Darlene Kiefer of Perryville, Mo.
Sheryl Ribbing of Anna, Betsy Ferguson of Marquand, Mo., and Belinda Webb of Oran, Mo., received the Honor Pin, presented to those who demonstrate outstanding service towards meeting the council's goals and objectives.
Volunteers who were presented the Appreciation Pin for outstanding service to their service unit include Angela Gearhart of Cobden, Marcia Malnar of Anna, Glendella May of Scott City, Mo., Diane Perdue of Benton, Mo., and Jamie Morton and Amy Cain of Cape Girardeau.
The Juliette Low Award for the highest percent of girl members in relation to the girl population was presented to the Cape Junior Service Unit, serving 1 out of every 2 girls in its jurisdiction.
The Cape Daisy and Brownie Service Unit received the award for the highest retention of girls and adults.
Ellington, Hawthorne, Perryville and Tsalagi service units received the Dolly Aubuchon Award for outstanding service unit performance.
