Support Girl Scout Week by recycling papers and aluminum on Saturday, March 9 at the Wal-Mart parking lot from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring magazines, catalogs and newspapers (including fliers and ads).
The scouts have asked that papers be placed in paper bags or cardboard boxes. Please, no plastic bags, phone books or strings.
The event will be held rain or shine.
They would like to thank the area for helping the Girl Scouts of Tsalagi Service Unit, the service project for Jackson and Oak Ridge.
If you throw an aluminum can out of your car window, it will still litter the Earth up to 500 years later. Recycled paper is used to produce newsprint, stationery, towels, tissue napkins, insulation, roofing paper, packaging and paper board.
For papers to be picked up call 243-6638, 243-5035 or 243-1160.
