Girl, 18, hurt in fall from Mo. cliff

AUGUSTA, Mo. (AP) -- An 18-year-old St. Charles County girl is hospitalized in critical condition after falling nearly 50 feet from a cliff in a park.

Jake Gregory of O'Fallon was flown by helicopter to St. John's Mercy Medical Center in suburban St. Louis after falling Tuesday afternoon at Klondike Park along Route 94 near Augusta.

Authorities say Gregory and another girl were near the top of the cliff when Gregory fell. It wasn't immediately clear what caused the fall.

Klondike Park opened in 2004 and includes high bluffs overlooking the Missouri River.
