The Gibson Recovery Center provides alcohol- and drug-recovery treatment on an outpatient or long-term residential basis.
In March 1990, the center opened a new facility at 1112 Linden to accommodate all of the agency's services.
The center provides services to those in need of recovery, residential support and rehabilitation for alcohol or drug abuse and dependency.
They serve on a priority basis residents from a six-county area that includes Cape Girardeau County. Residents of all 24 counties in Southeast Missouri are served in the long-term programs.
The center anticipates an overall reduction in funding for 1992 from the state Division of Alcohol and Drugs; thus, services are in danger of being reduced.
