Dick Decker, director of the Gibson Recovery Center Inc., will be going for a long walk Saturday.
Decker and some of his staff will start walking Saturday morning and keep going until they can't go any farther to raise funds for the center, which provides alcohol- and drug-abuse treatment programs for men.
The walk starts at 9 a.m. in the Jackson City Park.
"We're going to start about 9 o'clock and see how far we can walk in a 24-hour period," Decker said, adding he's not sure if he'll make his goal of 50 miles.
"It depends on how my body holds up. I'm getting older," he said.
Pledges and donations are being sought. For information call the Gibson Center at 334-5513. All proceeds will aid client services and capital improvements at the center, 1112 Linden St.
