Tim Garner of Cape Girardeau has been named a recipient of the Paul Rupp Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship fund was established in 1976 by the Midwest Automotive Wholesalers Association to encourage and assist the education development of students who plan to pursue a career in the automotive after-market industry.

The scholarship will provide $1,000 for the 1993-94 academic year and may be used to provide financial assistance for tuition, housing, fees and books.

Garner is the son of Bob and Linda Garner of Cape Girardeau. He is a 1993 graduate of Notre Dame High School and plans to attend Rockhurst College. He was sponsored for the award by John Tlapek, Auto Tire and Parts Company.
