World of Warcraft
After exhausting the Internet and ringing game stores off the hook, I still can't find anything coming out in May that's even close to being cool enough to write about, so I've decided to tell you about my personal favorite game. It's been out for a long time, and you might of heard about it. I'm talking about World of Warcraft ($39.99, PC), the massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) for PC.
World of Warcraft is an amazing game no matter your age, your gender, your interests or your game preferences. It's a simple game based loosely on the D&D mainframe, in which you create a character and then travel through the world leveling it up. It has an absolutely riveting story line, excellent controls and the ability to pick whether you play a good guy or a bad guy, which is always fun. There are seemingly endless ways to have fun in this game, whether you're a story line follower, someone who just loves to team up with people and slay things, or play PvP (Player versus Player). Of course, you can never "beat the game" but from experience I can tell you that just trying out all of the different combinations of races and classes have been enough to keep me playing for four months.
If you're unfamiliar at how online games work, you purchase the game at a store, install it, and with the game comes one month of playtime free. After that month, you'll need to have a credit card or game time card to enter to pay the $14.99 a month it charges. This is a game I give three thumbs up, though I'm not entirely sure that's possible. Give it a chance and you won't be disappointed.
