CAPE GIRARDEAU -- A crew from the ABC television show, America's Funniest People will be in Cape Girardeau Sunday looking for local talent to feature on upcoming shows.
Taping will be from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the West Park Mall Center Court.
Producers are looking for area people with jokes to tell, impressions to do or an unusual talent to perform to audition for the show, which airs Sunday nights.
"In particular, America's Funniest People is searching for jokes, unique impressions, sound effects and commercial parodies, as well as lip-syncing to favorite records," said Vin Di Bona, executive producer.
Winners on the show go on to compete for $10,000 in prize money given away weekly, Bona said.
Producers from the show are at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale today, and will be in Paducah, Ky. on Saturday. From Cape Girardeau, they will return to Carbondale's University Mall for a Monday taping.
