FREE HEARING TEST OFFERED OVER THE TELEPHONE

One program available for people who feel they may suffer from hearing loss is Dial A Hearing Screening Test. Known as DAHST, the program is a free, recorded telephone hearing screening test that allows people to check their hearing levels in the privacy of their home.

In this area, DAHST is sponsored by Perry County Memorial Hospital. By calling 547-8007, callers will be connected with the program.

When using DAHST, eight technically-tested tones will sound. If you don't hear all eight tones, you are advised to seek a more comprehensive hearing test.

The two-minute recorded message also gives a list of medical problems associated with hearing loss and a referral for further information on hearing awareness.
