JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation will offer free fishing at its waterways for two days next month.
The department is suspending fishing-permit requirements for the weekend of June 9-10. It's an annual event to encourage people to explore fishing without having to buy permits, trout stamps or trout park daily tags.
The Conservation Department owns or manages more than 300 Missouri waterways.
Normal regulations will be in effect during the free weekend, such as limits on size and number of fish. And some special permits may still be required at county, city and private fishing areas.
