Responses for the Feb. 3 mystery photo came from Jim Ainsworth, Malcolm Schack and Dub Suedekum, all of Cape Girardeau; Tom Hodgkiss of Scott City, who was a senior at Central High School when the picture was taken; Lindell Brennecke of Jackson and Paul Masterson, formerly of Cape Girardeau, now living in Lafayette, La.

Schack identified the 1950 photo of the Franklin School team as taken when they won the Jackson Tournament. The basketball at the bottom indicated a 25-0 record.

Coach Robert Hines was remembered as "a man among men" and "a real swell fellow," by Ainsworth. He was also his government teacher in high school.

Brennecke said, "I went to Trinity Lutheran School. When we played Franklin they would run us to death."
