JACKSON - The Desert Storm Homecoming Committee of Jackson will join with the Jackson Jaycee's Fourth of July celebration to honor local troops.
Activities will begin with a parade starting at 9 a.m. The parade will begin in the area of the Jackson Frozen Locker and will end at the Jackson City Park.
A recognition program will be held at 11 a.m. in the entertainment stage area of the park.
The program will recognize veterans in attendance from each conflict from World War I to Desert Storm. The program will also center on those veterans of this area as local units are made up of men and women living in cities within 100 miles of the Cape Girardeau/Jackson area.
Anyone interested in participating in the parade or needing additional information may contact Patty Reisenbichler at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, at 243-8131, or committee chairman Don Strohmeyer at 335-8764.
