A fourth person has been arrested in connection with a Sept. 5 gang robbery of a man outside a Cape Girardeau restaurant and bar, police said.
Cory A. Berry, 21, of 1015 Ranney St., was charged with second-degree robbery on Monday, police said. He is being held on a $7,000 bond.
The victim of the robbery had told police he left Rufus Mudsucker's restaurant on 2 N. Main St. about 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 5. He went into the Main Street parking lot adjacent to the restaurant where a group of people were gathered.
At some point, members of the group of 15 to 20 began to hit and kick the man, police said. During the scuffle, the man's wallet with cash and credit cards was stolen.
Last week, police arrested Robert D. Weissinger, 23, of 603 Mechaw St., and John R. Mitchell II, 19, of 1502 Scott St., in connection with the robbery. A 16-year-old boy was also cited into juvenile court for robbery.
