PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Perry County sheriff said Wednesday that two car thefts Monday led to the arrests of several teenagers.
The Perryville teens were hit with charges of tampering with a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.
Two vehicles were reported stolen early Monday, according to a news release from the sheriff's department. Soon after deputies received a call about one vehicle, a 1998 GMC Safari minivan, they found a 2011 Chevrolet HHR that was reported stolen from Perryville early that morning. The HHR had been in an accident.
The minivan was recovered about two hours later at the Intersection Motel.
The sheriff's department said Danny B. Harvill III, 17, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident for allegedly wrecking the HHR and fleeing. Garrett D. Baker, 17, was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle.
Britnee Terbrak, 19, and Selena Bunbar, 17, were charged with second-degree tampering with a motor vehicle in connection to the minivan theft.
