Susan Lynn Sciortino of Cape Girardeau, Amy R. McMillan of Friedheim, Michele L. Abrisz of Old Appleton and Angela Hogan of Oran have been awarded President's Scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University during the 1992-1993 academic year.
Hogan also received a Missouri Leadership Award to attend Southeast.
The President's Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who rank at least in the upper 20 percent of their high school class and score 24 on the ACT, those who rank in the upper 15 percent of their class and score 23 on the ACT, or those who are their class valedictorian or salutatorian.
The scholarship is worth $1,000 per academic year and is renewable for four years if a 3.5 grade point average is maintained.
The Missouri Leadership Award is a one-year award of $500 and is designed for Missouri students who have demonstrated leadership and academic abilities.
Sciortino is the daughter of Mike and Lana Sciortino of Cape Girardeau and will be a 1992 graduate of Central High School. She plans to major in audiology at Southeast.
McMillan is the daughter of Marvin and Sharon McMillan of Friedheim and will be a 1992 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. She plans to major in nursing at Southeast.
Abrisz is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Abrisz of Old Appleton and will graduate this spring from Oak Ridge R-6 High School. She plans to major in business at Southeast.
Hogan is the daughter of Leroy and Phyllis Hogan of Oran. She will graduate from Oran High School this spring. She plans to major in mass communications at Southeast.
