PERRYVILLE -- Four people have filed so far for three positions on the Perryville Board of Aldermen. The period for filing opened Wednesday and will close Jan. 29 for the April elections.

Additionally, no candidates have filed for three seats on the Perry County District 32 Board of Education.

On the Board of Aldermen, one seat in each of the three wards will open up. All three incumbents have filed for reelection, according to City Clerk Randy Taylor. They are: Paul Dunlap, Ward One; J. Paul Simpson, Ward Two; and David E. Nagle, Ward Three.

John A. Hagar has also filed for the Ward One seat.

Board of Education seats which are available are those currently held by Jim Chappius, David Crader and Wayne Schindler.

Chappius, a Perryville police officers, was elected to the board in 1988 and has completed one three-year term.

Crader was appointed to the board in September to fill a seat vacated by board member Doug Johnson, who moved out of the district.

Schindler was appointed in November to fill a seat vacated by the death of board member Marion Berkbuegler.

In Perry County, two positions on the Perry County Health Center Board of Trustees are up for reelection in April, as are two seats on the Perry County Hospital Board of Trustees.

For the seats on the Health Center Board, the two incumbents, Mel Tull and Edgar Degenhardt, both of Perryville, have filed.

Three candidates have filed for two seats on the five-member hospital Board of Trustees. They are the two incumbents Ronald Hohenadel and William D. Philips, Jr. Frank W. "Bill" Bergman has also filed for the seat.
