Four Jackson aldermen absent, preventing quorum

Four members of the board of aldermen were absent from Jackson’s regular meeting Wednesday, leaving not enough present for a quorum.

A motion was passed to table all agenda items until the next regular meeting March 6.

The aldermen present discussed holding a special meeting early next week to review Jackson Deli & BBQ’s application for a liquor license.

In the study session Wednesday, those present discussed several items:

• A proposed Jackson community survey
• West Jackson Boulevard planter-box program
• New regulations under the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission/Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act
• The preliminary substation design project
• A new scoreboard at Field 5 in Jackson City Park south of the swimming pool
• An update on the Planning and Zoning meeting results.
