ANNA, Ill. -- An Illinois grand jury indicted four Missourians on felony charges in connection with a July 10 home invasion and armed robbery in Anna, a prosecutor reported Thursday.
Anthony T. Sample, 36, of Jackson; Wesley M. Jones III, 28, of Cape Girardeau; Jenna A. Young, 27, of Oak Ridge; and Lakisha S. Bernachi, 19, of Cape Girardeau were indicted on one count each of home invasion and armed robbery, according to a news release from Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds.
The suspects are accused of entering an Anna home while armed with a Taser, Edmonds reported.
As of Thursday, Sample and Jones were in custody at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro, Ill., in lieu of $75,000 bond, and Young was being held at the same jail on $15,000 bond, according to the news release.
All four are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 20, with Bernachi facing arraignment and the other suspects facing a bond hearing, Edmonds reported.
Online court records show three of the suspects have had previous brushes with the law.
Sample has a criminal history in Missouri dating to 1996, when he pleaded guilty to stealing, online court records show.
He subsequently pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in 1997; traffic violations involving failure to register a vehicle in 2010; third-degree assault and marijuana possession in 2011; and driving on a revoked or suspended license in 2012, online court records show.
According to online Missouri court records, Young pleaded guilty to marijuana possession twice, in 2008 and 2010, and Jones pleaded guilty to property damage and trespassing in 2010 and driving on a revoked or suspended license in 2012.
Under Illinois law, home invasion and armed robbery are Class X felonies punishable by six to 30 years in prison.
