Four hurt in weekend accident near Scott City

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday on Interstate 55. No one suffered serious injuries in the accident, which happened at 4:50 p.m. on Interstate 55, two miles south of Scott City.

According to a report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Clinton Hollis, 28, of Doyline, La., was traveling northbound when his vehicle hydroplaned and crossed the median. The vehicle then skipped into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Brenda Ward, 50, of Sikeston, Mo.

A passenger in Hollis' car, Kimberly Hollis, 33, suffered minor injuries and was treated at St. Francis Medical Center.

Ward suffered moderate injuries and was treated at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Two passengers in Ward's vehicle, Becky Klingeman, 26, and Austin Ward, 10, both of Sikeston, suffered minor injuries and were treated at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
