Three Scott City men and a juvenile have been arrested for allegedly making methamphetamine, the Scott County sheriff said.
James E. Howell, 41, is in the Scott County jail, with bond set at $300,000.
He is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of chemicals, possession of ephedrine, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and endangering the welfare of a child.
Scott County Sheriff Bill Ferrell said the two other men and the juvenile were expected to be charged soon.
Ferrell said investigators searched a rural residence between Scott City, Mo., and Commerce, Mo., Friday afternoon and found chemicals and other items used to manufacture methamphetamine.
He added that investigators also found substances thought to be methamphetamine and marijuana.
