Four arrested, property recovered in Kennett investigation

KENNETT, Mo. -- The Kennett Police Department has arrested four people and recovered about $200,000 in property following an investigation into a recent rash of vehicle break-ins and a local burglary.

According to Kennett police chief Barry Tate, he and several off-duty officers conducted clandestine surveillance and investigations during the overnight hours Thursday.

Early Friday, officers went to a residence on South Jackson Street as part of the investigation.

Police arrested four people suspected in the rash of thefts. Investigators then obtained consent to search the residence, which was believed to be as "stash house" containing evidence of the thefts.

Tate said the investigation is ongoing but that officers were able to seize a large amount of evidence from the house, including the majority of the items which were taken in the thefts and burglary.

Arrested were Candi Adams, 33; Jonathan Williams, 30; Joshua Fry, 26; and Lisa Simms, 37, all of Kennett. They are all being charged with four count of felony stealing and one count of second-degree burglary. No bond had been set early Friday.
