Three Cape Girardeau Central High School graduating seniors and a Jackson graduate have been awarded President's scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University during the 1993-94 academic year.
The students are Anna J. Fornkahl, Laura J. Krone and Rebecca J. Rigdon, all of Cape Girardeau; and Sandra K. Oliver of Jackson.
Fornkahl and Krone also received Missouri Leadership awards.
The President's Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who rank in the upper 15 percent of their high school class and score 24 on the ACT or who rank in the upper 20 percent of their high school class and score 25 on the ACT, or who graduate as their class valedictorian or salutatorian.
The scholarship is worth $1,000 per academic year and is renewable for four years if the student maintains a 3.3 grade point average on a four-point scale.
The Missouri Leadership Award is a one-year award of $500 and is designed for Missouri students who have achieved an ACT score of 23 and have demonstrated leadership abilities.
Fornkahl plans to major in accounting at Southeast. She is the daughter of Ronald and Glenda Fornkahl of Cape Girardeau.
Krone is the daughter of Bob and Joanna Krone of Cape Girardeau. She also received a Golden Eagles Marching Band Scholarship for beginning freshmen.
Rigdon is the daughter of Denis and Jan Rigdon of Cape Girardeau.
Oliver, a Jackson High School graduate, plans to major in nursing at Southeast. She is the daughter of Al and LaDonna Oliver of Jackson.
