Candidates for the March 21 Illinois primary have been invited to share their views with residents of Alexander County at a forum Monday evening in Olive Branch, Ill.
The forum begins at 7 p.m. at the Horseshoe Lake Community Center on Illinois Highway 3. The forum is sponsored by Concerned Citizens for the Recovery of Cairo.
County offices on the primary ballot include county commissioner, clerk, sheriff, treasurer and assessor. The only contested primaries for those races are among Democrats.
The Republican Party has a contested primary for regional superintendent of schools for the five-county region that includes Alexander and Union counties.
