Swoboda's home phone is not listed, and he could not be reached at the hospital. A message left with his friend, Tom Noonan, was not immediately returned Monday.

Swoboda survived two shots to his head Feb. 7 during a City Council meeting in a melee during which Kirkwood resident Charles "Cookie" Thornton killed five city employees.

Swoboda spent weeks recuperating at a local hospital.
