CAIRO, Ill. -- A former Cairo resident has been charged with two felony counts of arson in connection with two July fires in Cairo.

Shayne J. Harma, 23, was sought on Wednesday and served with a warrant for his arrest, according to a release by Cairo fire chief John A. Meyer.

Bond was set at $50,000.

The release said the charges stem from July 13 and 26 fires at vacant residences at 704 22nd St. and 2207 Pine St. in Cairo.

The investigation was launched by Cairo fire and police departments, as well as police from Cape Girardeau and Van Buren, Mo., and Havre, Mont.

At least six charges for arson are pending out of state.
