President Clinton's former senior policy adviser, George Stephanopoulos, will lecture at Southeast Missouri State University next month.
Stephanopoulos will speak March 3 at 7 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom.
The event is open to the public and admission is free. The lecture is sponsored by the Student Activities Council.
Theresa Haug, SAC president, said Stephanopoulos will discuss "Politics, A View from Washington."
He will lecture for about 35 minutes and answer questions for another 25 minutes, Haug said.
Stephanopoulos currently works for ABC News as an analyst. He is a regular contributor to ABC's "This Week with Sam & Cokie" news show.
He also appears on "Good Morning America" and other ABC News programs.
Stephanopoulos was a key strategist in Clinton's presidential campaigns. He was involved in virtually all major policy initiatives during Clinton's first term.
During the 1992 presidential election, he served as deputy campaign manager and director of communications. He oversaw polling, policy, scheduling, press relations and media operations.
Before joining Clinton's campaign, he worked for U.S. Rep. Richard Gephardt, who was then House majority leader.
He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He has a master's degree in theology from Balliol College, Oxford University, England, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
He holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Columbia University where he graduated summa cum laude.
