JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- About 80 workers likely will lose their jobs at the Florsheim Shoe Warehouse because of a bankruptcy filing by its parent company.

Florsheim Group Inc. said this week that it had filed for Chapter 11 relief in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Peter Corritori, CEO of Florsheim, said the Jefferson City distribution center will not be part of a $44.8 million agreement with Weyco Group Inc., which will purchase Florsheim's domestic wholesale business, related assets and some retail stores.
