MARQUAND -- The body of a 79-year-old Marquand man swept away by flash flooding along the Castor River Nov. 14 was found by a hunter Saturday.
The body of Earl C. Storie was found near Trail's End Ranch, not far downstream from the point where his flooded car was found Nov. 14, said a spokeswoman for the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
The body was found at 10:53 a.m. near Route DD, about three-fourths of a mile past the low-water bridge.
The sheriff had called off the search for Storie on Thursday because of high water.
Storie was a retired auto mechanic who had moved to Marquand from California in 1989.
