Five area high school graduates have been named to the centennial class of the University of Missouri system Curators Scholars Program.
Recipients are Edwin Christopher Kuntz of Cape Girardeau, Holly Renee Kutscher of Jackson, A. Lauren Brazel of Charleston, Gretchen Fornhahl of Jackson and Jennifer Frericks of Jackson.
Kuntz, a graduate of Notre Dame High School, plans to attend the University of Missouri-Rolla to study engineering. He is the son of Edwin and Gabriela Kuntz.
Kutscher, a graduate of Jackson High School, plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia to study chemical engineering specializing in biotechnology. She is the daughter of Donald and Doris Kutscher.
Brazel, a graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia to study law. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Brazel.
Fornkahl, a graduate of Jackson High School, plans to attend the University of Missouri-Rolla to study geological engineering. She is the daughter of Gary and Karen Fornkahl.
Frericks is a graduate of Jackson High School and plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is the daughter of David and Cynthia Frericks.
Curators scholarships cover the educational fees for the first academic year. The scholarship may be renewed in succeeding years, provided the students meets renewal criteria.
