Five people were injured in two separate traffic accidents Monday.

The first accident happened at 5:30 p.m. on U.S. 61 outside Morley when a vehicle driven by Larry Lutes of Sikeston turned into the path of a vehicle driven by Dereck Arnold of Chaffee. Arnold's vehicle then went off the road and hit a parked vehicle.

Lutes, 23, and Arnold, 26, were moderately injured and taken to St. Francis Medical Center.

Constance Lutes, 18, and Brad Tidwell, 24, were passengers in Lutes' car. They were also treated for injures at St. Francis Medical Center.

A second accident 12 miles south of Poplar Bluff left Carrol Fletcher injured. Fletcher had been trying to turn left on U.S. 67 in Butler County and turned into the path of a car driven by Roger Tharp of Naylor. Fletcher's vehicle was struck on the passenger side. Fletcher received minor injuries and was taken to Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
