Emergency responders were called to the scene of a crash in the 4500 block of East Jackson Boulevard before 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Five people were taken to the hospital, and three had to be extricated from the two vehicles, though one of those extricated was uninjured, Jackson assistant fire chief Randy Davis said.
The crash caused a delay for traffic on the busy street, but the street wasn't closed.
Lt. Scott Eakers of the Jackson Police Department said Wednesday afternoon police wouldn't be able to release more details until Thursday because a report was still being compiled. Eakers said the slick road could have contributed to the crash.
