OAK RIDGE -- Incumbents Jeff Hahs and Jerry Schreiner are among five candidates seeking three positions on the Oak Ridge Board of Education when voters go to the polls Tuesday. Other candidates are Judy Abrisz of Old Appleton, Kenneth Green of Pocahontas, and Jacqueline Ludwig of Oak Ridge.

The terms of Hahs and Schreiner expire this year, and under legislation approved last year by the Missouri General Assembly, the number of school board seats have been expanded from six to seven resulting in another position to be filled at schools during the 1993 elections.

Hahs, of Oak Ridge, who is president of the current school board, is a sales representative in the construction industry. He is seeking his fourth term.

Schreiner, also of Oak Ridge, works at Procter & Gamble. He is currently serving as vice president of the board of education.

Ludwig, a retired teacher, says she taught at Oak Ridge 36 years, and is competing for her first term on the board.

Green, a substitute mail carrier for Route 1, Jackson, said three of his daughters had graduated from Oak Ridge and that a son was now a sophomore there.

"My wife is from Oak Ridge," he said. "I have lived in this area 29 years, and I want to give something back to the school." Green has served on the Concordia Trinity Lutheran School Board at Frohna three years.

Abrisz is a substitute teacher. "I want to give something back to the school," she said.
