GOLDEN POND, Ky. Crappie fishing has been good for anglers who hunt for them at Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. "Crappie are being found in shallow waters," says Dr. Tom Forsythe, fisheries biologist who is preparing a weekly fishing forecast for the two lakes. "Smaller crappie are being caught in less than a foot of water, and larger crappie are being found in 10 to 18 inches of water. Anglers are using jigs and minnows."...

GOLDEN POND, Ky. Crappie fishing has been good for anglers who hunt for them at Kentucky and Barkley Lakes.

"Crappie are being found in shallow waters," says Dr. Tom Forsythe, fisheries biologist who is preparing a weekly fishing forecast for the two lakes. "Smaller crappie are being caught in less than a foot of water, and larger crappie are being found in 10 to 18 inches of water. Anglers are using jigs and minnows."

Forsythe added that bass fishing was slow, with best activity on crank baits in crawfish colors.
