CREVE COEUR, Mo. (AP) -- Quick action by suburban St. Louis firefighters helped save a dog stranded in the middle of a lake.
KSDK-TV reports that Pattonville and Maryland Heights firefighters responded to Creve Coeur Park on Wednesday, where the dog was on ice in the middle of Creve Coeur Lake. The firefighters dove into the frigid water and pulled the dog to shore.
The owner of the dog said the animal was chasing geese along the partially frozen lake when he fell in.
The dog was recovering well after firefighter warmed him in a special blanket.
