The call went out at 7:22 a.m. to a house off Highway 62 east of Miner.

Fire crews said they had a difficult time getting their trucks and two tankers to the house because of ice and snow on the roads and the home's driveway.

When they arrived, the homeowner warned firefighters there was live ammunition inside the home.

Heat from the fire started setting off the ammunition just before the roof caved in.

Firefighters said they took a defensive stance afterward and were able to save only a truck from the flames. The fire destroyed the home and a car parked in the garage.

Everyone in the home was accounted for and unhurt, including the family's two dogs.
