Fire destroys mobile home

DELTA, Mo. -- The cause has not yet been determined for a fire that destroyed a trailer home in Monty Montgomery Mobile Homes Sunday.

According to Delta fire chief Alvin Frank Jr., a person driving by reported the fire at 3:23 p.m. Both the Delta and Gordonville fire departments responded to the call.

One end of the trailer was saved, but the rest of the home was totaled, Frank said. Most of the contents were destroyed, but firefighters were able to rescue some cats trapped inside.

A storage building several feet away from the home suffered some heat damage, but was not destroyed.

Frank said the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
