EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- A grain bin complex caught on fire early Thursday in Mississippi County, destroying at least one building.
About 4:30 a.m., the East Prairie Fire Department responded to a blaze at Mount Level Farms on East Main Street just outside city limits.
"It destroyed one large building where grain was being stored," said East Prairie police chief Danny Lafferty. "It's still smoldering, and they'll be out there today, keeping things cooled."
Lafferty said the cause of the fire is unknown but officials do know milo was being stored in the bins. No one was reported injured, he said.
Responding to the scene were East Prairie Fire Department, Anniston Fire Department and Charleston Department of Public Safety.
