A Sunday morning fire caused between $50,000 and $70,000 worth of fire, smoke and heat damage to a house in the 2000 block of Earleen Drive.
The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to the fire around 9 a.m. Sunday. The owners of the house were out of town at the time.
Fire officials said the master bedroom was burned out, and the rest of the house had extensive smoke and heat damage.
The cause of the fire is still unclear, but officials do not suspect arson.
