A Monday night fire that caused damage to a carpet and floor business is being considered accidental, a fire investigator said Tuesday. Capt. Richard Lyke, chief investigator with the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, said the fire started in the office area at the Carpet and Floor Center at 592 Commercial St., but a cause has not yet been determined.
