Filings through Wednesday for area offices

Following is a list of those who have filed for election in Cape Girardeau, Scott, Perry and Bollinger counties in Missouri, and Alexander County in Illinois.

The filing deadline for all offices in Missouri is March 30. Missouri primary election will be held Aug. 3. Illinois primary was held Tuesday.

The general election is Nov. 2.

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY

Position: First District Associate Commissioner

Description: Represents the county outside the city of Cape Girardeau and oversees roads and bridges throughout the entire county. One of three commissioners who have final say on county business, including county budget and purchases of all county departments.
