FFA CONVENTION

BENTON -- Several area FFA members recently attended the FFA State Convention, held at Columbia.

Two FFA advisers Robert Gosche, of the Kelly-Benton FFA Chapter and Tom Hulshof of Oran and 25 FFA members 17 of them from the Kelly chapter attended the conference.

Heath Burger and David BAckfisch received State Farmers Degree at the Conference, and Backfisch was selected to receive the Star Agribusinessman award.

Participating in various contests were Ryan Morrow, Jeff Schmitt and Mitchell Sander in soils; Chris DeHart, Jeremy Vetter and Matt LeGrand in field crops; Kim Essner, Amy Cossou and Kenny Hency in nursery/landscaping; Melanie Urhahn, Barbara Scherer and Jason Grojean in floriculture; and Pat Hulshof, Jerry Hart and Mark Chapman in dairy cattle judging.
