The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the United States Small Business Administration have announced that tornado victims have until July 7 to apply for financial assistance.
FEMA representatives are still stationed at the Jackson National Guard Armory indefinitely or victims can call 1-800-621-3362 to apply.
FEMA assistance may be available for uninsured and under-insured Missourians who sustained damages. Insured homeowners must settle with their insurance companies before FEMA can provide assistance.
Seventy-four counties were declared eligible for individual assistance in the wake of the May tornadoes.
To date, 6,046 individuals have applied for disaster assistance in Missouri. More than $23.5 million has been approved for individuals affected by the May storms, including more than $17.1 million in low-interest disaster loans from the SBA.
