The following information was released by the office of federal prosecutor Catherine Hanaway for defendants who appeared in federal court Monday before U.S. District Judge E. Richard Webber:
PLEADED GUILTY
Name: Terry L. Golden
Age: 35
Residence: Parma, Mo.
Charge: Conspiracy to distribute cocaine base.
Sentence range: Up to life imprisonment and a $8 million fine.
Details: Golden admitted that from 2003 through 2005, he conspired to distribute crack cocaine. He traveled out of state, obtained cocaine and brought it back to other co-conspirators who distributed it throughout Southeast Missouri. Sentencing is Jan. 22.
Name: Alvin Long
Age: 33
Residence: Salem, Mo.
Charge: Five counts of burglary on federal property.
Sentence range: Up to 35 years' imprisonment and a $25,000 fine.
Details: In response to complaints of thefts on federal campgrounds in Shannon County, U.S. Park Service set up surveillance at some tent sites. On Aug. 5, a ranger saw Long entering three tents. Long admitted that he had burglarized and stole from five tents. Sentencing is Jan. 22.
