FCE club presents clothing guards for area veterans

Lamplighters FCE Club of Cape Girardeau showed its appreciation to veterans on Valentine's Day by delivering 60 handmade clothing protectors for Veterans Home residents.

Funding for project supplies was made possible by a Missouri Foundation for Family and Community Education grant the Lamplighters received in 2005 and proceeds from a community yard sale.

Members will have made 240 clothing protectors when they make their last delivery July 4 and will have invested 600 hours of labor in the project when it is completed.
