New crop-insurance requirements and the 1995 acreage reduction program will be discussed during a series of meetings throughout Cape Girardeau County next week.
Terry Birk, county director of the Department of Agriculture Consolidated Farm Service Agency, will conduct the meetings.
"To remain eligible for USDA benefits, all producers are required to insure their 1995 crop production," said Birk. "March 15 is the final date to obtain federal crop insurance on all 1995 crops."
Additional information will be available at three county meetings, each starting at 7 p.m., or by calling 243-1467.
The meeting schedule:
-- Monday, University Extension Center, Jackson.
-- Tuesday, Oak Ridge School cafeteria.
-- Thursday, Delta School Vo-Ag room.
