Farm and Home Savings Association is moving to a new location.
The firm is relocating from its 440 Broadway location to 211 Silver Springs Rd., in front of West Park Mall, where it will open Aug. 12 in the former First Federal Savings and Loan Association building.
The office was not used after First Federal was acquired by Capital Bank last year. Farm and Home is leasing it from Robert and Anna Drury and from the Society for Propagation of the Faith, Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese.
Spokesman Gary Crenshaw said the new location will have six drive-up lanes, substantial parking space and an automated teller machine.
The hours at the new facility will be expanded. The lobby hours will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, until 6 p.m. on Friday and until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Drive-through hours will be the same, except for opening one-half hour earlier, at 8:30 a.m.
A grand opening is being planned for later.
"We think customer convenience will be greatly expanded by this new facility," said local branch manager Karen Rigdon.
The same six employees presently working will transfer.
Farm and Home Savings has operated in Cape Girardeau for 18 years. The company acquired the former Southeast Savings and Loan Association in 1973, according to Crenshaw. The 98-year-old company is based in Nevada, Mo., and has offices in Missouri and Texas. It is the principal subsidiary of Farm and Home Financial Corporation, which has $3.5 billion in assets.
