For everyone who ordered a "Faces and Places" book for Scott County or Bollinger County, the books are expected to arrive from the printers today by noon.

Editor and project coordinator Carol Robert will call each pre-order customer once the books come in. She will be at Banner Press in Marble Hill until 6:30 p.m. today after she makes the calls. Books will also be available today at the Southeast Missourian offices in Cape Girardeau and Jackson. Robert recommends calling either location before coming in.

For those expecting to pick up their copies at the Scott County Signal, Robert will be there on Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Extra copies are available for those who have not yet ordered one.

This year's "Faces and Places" editions are hard-bound, photographic histories of the families and places that defined Bollinger County and Scott County from the 1800s through the 1950s. The black and white photos are each accompanied by descriptions and names of those shown.

Photos were compiled from submissions made by area families. "Either book will make a great last-minute holiday gift," said Robert.
