JACKSON -- The quarterly meeting of the Cape County FCE Council was held June 5 at the University of Missouri Extension Center in Jackson.
Opal Collins of Kage Club gave the devotional.
Lois Seabaugh introduced Lisa Sheffer of Option Care, who presented the program on health care outside the hospital setting.
Mary Klaproth conducted the business session.
Margie Swan displayed the state friendship quilt that she set together. The quilt will be given away at the state meeting in September. Swan also gave a brief report on the district meeting held April 23.
Members were reminded of the $300 extension club scholarship available to a college student with at least 25 hours of credit. The deadline to apply is October.
Plans were made for the blood drive to be held from 2-7 p.m. June 25 at Holiday Inn Convention Center. Each club is to provide cookies, chips, pretzels, cheese curls or other snacks for the drive.
It was decided to purchase 200 Golden Books to be given to children ages 1-4 years on their first visit to the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center.
Verna Vogel announced there is a trip to Nashville planned June 20-22.
The next meeting is Sept. 4.
